Safety to Nome

02 14 22

We’re joining forces with DotWatcher, the home of ultra-distance cycling, to bring the Alaskan wilderness to London for a night.

On Thursday 24th February, we’ll be hosting a screening of Safety to Nome, a documentary about the Iditarod Trail Invitational at Look Mum No Hands! in London. Three days later, the 2022 edition of the Iditarod Trail Invitational will depart from Anchorage, Alaska.

Before the screening, Graeme Raeburn (Lead Designer at Albion) will join Kitty Dennis from DotWatcher to discuss layering and dressing for extreme conditions. Look Mum No Hands! will also be serving food and drink throughout the evening.

Space is limited, so sign up to reserve your spot on Eventbrite.

About the Iditarod Trail Race

The Iditarod Trail Invitational follows a 1,000 mile sled-dog route from Knik Lake, near Anchorage, to Nome, or the 350 mile route which ends in McGrath. The race takes place on bike, foot and skis with competitors out in the extreme conditions that the Alaskan wilderness brings in winter for almost 20 days.

About Safety to Nome

Safety to Nome follows 26 athletes as they embark on the perilous journey out of Anchorage for the 2017 edition of The Iditarod Trail Invitational. With few spots for shelter and temperatures reaching -40°F/C, expect the unexpected. Directors Kenton Gilchrist and Jonathan Hunwick, takes us along for the journey with these intrepid competitors and give us a unique view of this extreme race.
