Because it’s an adventure. When my kids ask me what Further was, I said Adventure time on bikes.

This is a tune that always come to mind when I did a road trip, I have strong memories of this being an earworm on the TCR a few years ago.

James Luther Dickinson – O How She Dances
I love this idea of a motley crew at a circus.

I agree with Link Wray.

I hope this can be an ear worm for racers as they look at a 3000m mountain knowing they are going to hike a good percentage of it.

Lee Marvin – Wand’rin Star
I love musicals, and I always wanted to be Lee Marvin… and the song fits.

Scott Walker – Jackie
It’s a tune with the feeling of abandonment and joy.. we have these feelings when we do a big trip.

Groove Armada – Hands of Time
Time, loss of time, losing track of time… compression of time. I want Further to be the longest lost weekend in racers minds.

Elation.

Not all good times.

Merle Haggard – White Line Fever
It’s an addiction bicycle riding, travel is an addiction.

Warren Zevon – Werewolves Of London
I love the elation of this. Its very vaudeville. I am very vaudeville in how I view the world.

T.Rex – I Love to Boogie
Every time I rode the Dunwich Dynamo this tune would be in my head. The flashing lights, darkness… peoples pedaling action seemed to fit the beat.

Thin Lizzy – Whiskey in the Jar
I was given a very nice bottle of whiskey at the start of the 2019 race ( Thanks again Jo). It was drunk and it was enjoyed by everyone at the finish. Let’s do that again.
