Re-Route | Theo Kelsey and the BT 700
24-06-14Re-Route
It's easy to lose sight of why we ride.
In Re-Route, Theo Kelsey gives us a glimpse into what being a first time race director means, and how it represents a healthy change of pace in his relationship with racing.
Directed by Tanner Jackson and Marcel North Gallant.
Background to the BT700
Situated in Southwestern Ontario, the BT 700 is a 798 km loop (used to be 700) in southwestern Ontario designed for any rider who revels in unpaved backcountry roads, testy climbs and trails through thick forests. The route as a whole is designed to be an adventure cycling route, mainly using unsurfaced riding surfaces, that bundles southern Ontario’s greatest hits into one neat package.
Once a year, the Grand Depart occurs from the historic village of St. Jacobs, Ontario which brings together the bikepacking community. The BT 700 is an open-sourced route though, and one which can be tackled at any time of the year.
